How long have you been training?

14 years.

Why did you begin training?

To learn about ground fighting and become more well-rounded in martial arts. I hold a 3rd black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

What encourages you the most about your practice?

There’s always a new detail or new way to think about a technique. There will always be something to learn.

What challenges you the most?

Sorting through the mound of BJJ information and focusing on what’s most timely.

Any notable accomplishments, interests or facts you’d like to share?

I’m an outdoor enthusiast and have hiked a third of the Appalachian Trail so far. I’ve been a competitor for over 12 years. I compete all over the US, in Europe, and Brazil. I’m an eight-time World Masters gold medalist.
